Often the best information you will get when on holiday will be from the locals who work at the hotels, car rental services and businesses around your holiday destination.
They will usually know the best places to dine and the cheapest places to shop. They won’t usually be the same places that you will find in the main tourist locations as they are the areas where you will often get charged a premium for anything you spend your money on.
Don’t rely on the advice of one person though, as everyone has different opinions of what is good value and what it good quality food.
If you get the same recommendations from several people you can feel a lot happier that they are giving you the answers you need.
Often, talking to the local people can result in a change of holiday plan, where they will offer alternative suggestions on how to make the most of your holiday.
People are generally willing to help anyone who asks for advice and on occasions when you strike up a conversation with the right person they might even offer to show you around the area.
If you are traveling on your own you need to be a little bit cautious with any offers to take you to places, as you will have no idea of whether you can trust that person or not.
If you show your respect for the people who work at the hotels and other service providers that you come in contact with on holiday, they will usually be only too willing to help you have the best possible time and they can be of more use to you than all the travel brochures you have collected.
The more information you can get from the many different sources, the better your decisions will be when determining where to spend your time and money.
